Electric Fencing - COC Certificate
New Law for Electric Fences:
Since October 2012, the new law requires that all electric fences must be certified with an Electric Fence System Certificate of Compliance (EFC). In terms of this new law, from 1 December 2012 any property equipped with an electric fence may only be transferred if an EFC has been lodged with the conveyance attorney.
This legislation includes all residential and commercial units, freehold and / or sectional title, within townhouse complexes, housing estates, eco parks, business parks.
If the electric fencing had not been installed by a certified installer, your insurance claims may be rejected. All installations and repairs to electric fencing have to comply with Regulations 12 of the Regulation for Electric Machinery of 2011.
In terms of these Regulations, the home owner may be held accountable in the event of anyone being injured due to the electric fence - even an intruder!
We have an qualified inspector certified to issue Certificates of Compliance (COC Certificate).
